Online Metronome
Online Metronome Overview
Accurate audio ticks at a specific BPM.
Online Metronome is a professional-grade precision timing tool designed for musicians, producers, and students. Unlike basic metronomes, this advanced tool provides customizable sound profiles (Classic Click, Woodblock, Digital, Drum Kit), adjustable time signatures (from 1/4 to 12/8), and a smart Tap Tempo feature to instantly find the BPM of any song. Developing perfect rhythm is essential for every musician, whether you are a guitarist perfecting a solo, a drummer building internal clock, or a pianist mastering complex time signatures. The tool leverages strict audio timing (Web Audio API) to ensure zero drift, keeping you perfectly on beat even at high speeds. With a range of 40 to 280 BPM, visual beat indicators, and specialized accent beats for the start of every measure, it offers everything you need for effective practice sessions. It is fully responsive and works offline, making it the perfect companion for practice rooms, studios, or live performance checks.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is Tap Tempo?
- Tap Tempo allows you to set the metronome speed by tapping a button in rhythm with a song or your internal pulse. It calculates the average time between your taps to determine the exact BPM instantly.
- Why does the first beat sound different?
- That is the "Accent" beat. It marks the start of a new measure (bar). For example, in 4/4 time, the first click is pitched higher to help you keep track of the "1". You can change the time signature to adjust how often this accent occurs.
- What Sound Type is best?
- It depends on your instrument. "Woodblock" is natural and pleasant for long sessions. "Digital" is sharp and cuts through loud distorted guitars. "Drum" feels more like playing with a real drummer. "Classic" is the traditional beep found on old digital metronomes.
- How high does the BPM go?
- Our metronome supports a wide range from 40 BPM (Largo) up to 280 BPM (Prestissimo), covering virtually all musical genres from doom metal to speedcore.
- Is this metronome accurate?
- Yes, extremely accurate. It uses the browser's Web Audio API scheduling, which relies on the system hardware clock rather than standard JavaScript timers (which can drift). This ensures professional-grade timing stability.
